NAF Human Resources Office

Human Resources Office (HRO) is responsible for all Non-Appropriated (NAF) job opportunities on Nellis Air ​Force Base. We offer full time, part time, flexible schedules, seasonal and permanent with many benefits and competitive wages.

The NAFPAY & AFSFMS site is live; however, it may be blocked on some .mil networks because the certificate is not recognized. To access these sites, please see the following: 
1. If accessing from .mil, users may be blocked. To bypass this, please connect to the JRSS VPN while connected to .mil and use Chrome or Firefox.
2. The recommended way to connect to NAFPAY is from home or by cell phone via Chrome or Firefox. When users receive the notice “Connection not Private,” they should click “Accept” or “Go to Site”, “Advanced,” and “Accept Certificate.”

Database Admins are working on this issue with AF Network Operations. There currently is not an ETA on resolution.

Squadron Officer School (SOS)
The Squadron Officer School distance learning (SOS DL) program is the Air Force’s primary developmental education (PDE) program and is designed to advance the professional development foundation provided by the accessions programs. As an Air Force program, SOS DL seeks to provide an “air-minded” curriculum that prepares graduates for greater responsibilities at the squadron level while also building critical thinking skills in the application of airpower for national security goals and objectives.
Eligibilities/Requirements:

  • NF-III and above with at least two years of service who possess a regionally-accredited bachelor’s degree
  • Supervisor/Commander validation and endorsement
  • Overall course grade of 75% or higher to complete the program

Air Command and Staff College (ACSC)
The ACSC curriculum is designed to produce a more effective field-grade officer serving in operational-level command or staff positions. All curriculum is web based and accessed through an online learning management system. In addition to readings, the program includes a variety of computer-based interactive learning activities and exercises and leverages social media tools to enable peer-to-peer interaction and learning. Self-paced study is enhanced by a national security paper and three multi week, collaborative, online-facilitated seminars.
Eligibilities/ Requirements

  •  NF-III and above with at least two years of service who possess a regionally-accredited bachelor’s degree
  • Supervisor/Commander validation and endorsement
  • Overall course grade of 75% or higher to complete the program

Air War Collage (AWC)
The Air War College distance learning (AWC DL) program is a senior developmental education (SDE) program. The AWC DL curriculum is based on the five core areas central to all levels of professional military education—leadership, profession of arms, warfighting, national/international security, and communication studies. As an Air Force SDE program, AWC DL provides a strategic, “air-minded” curriculum that prepares graduates to provide strategic leadership, appropriate expertise and critical thinking in support of national security objectives.
Eligibilities/ Requirements: 

  • NF-IV and above with at least two years of service who possess a regionally-accredited bachelor’s degree
  • Supervisor/ Commander validation and endorsement
  • Overall course grade of 75% or higher to complete the program

You will be required to submit a copy of your photo ID.  This can be your CAC, Dependent ID, Driver’s License or State ID.  All Personally Identifiable Information (PII) must be removed.
PII includes:

  • Social Security Number
  • Driver’s License or State ID Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Home Address

The Human Resource Assistant who is assigned to your facility will reset and e-mail a temporary password to you.
PLEASE NOTE: PASSWORDS MUST BE CHANGED WITHIN 24 HOURS.

All Air Force NAF employees are required to complete the following Total Force Awareness Training (TFAT) and Safety Training within 60 days of initial employment.

– AF New Employee Orientation (AF NEO) — One time requirement, upon initial employment.
– Combating Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) – One time requirement upon initial employment until further notice.
– Notification & Federal Employee Anti-discrimination & Retaliation Act (NoFEAR) – Once upon initial employment, then every 24 months.
– Religious Freedom – Once upon initial employment, then every 36 months.
– Operations Security (OPSEC) – Once upon initial employment, then every 12 months.
– Force Protection – Once upon initial employment, then every 12 months.
– Air Force Risk Management Fundamentals Course – Once upon initial employment, until further notice.
– Environmental Management System – General Awareness – Once upon initial employment, until further notice.

-Cyber Awareness (only for employees with Government computer access) – Once upon initial employment, then every 12 months.

You must have a Common Access Card (CAC) to gain full access to the site.
